Terms of Use

Agreement

By accepting an invitation and using the NGN Portal, you agree to these Terms of Use together with our Privacy Policy, Code of Conduct, and Cookie Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the portal.

Eligibility and access

Access is limited to individuals invited by the Now Generation Network or Mo Ibrahim Foundation programme team. You must provide accurate registration information and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account.

Platform role

The Mo Ibrahim Foundation hosts and maintains the portal. The Now Generation Network community is operated in partnership with MIF: NGN programme leaders and administrators manage member experience, mentorship, events, and community moderation within policies set by MIF.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Harass, threaten, or discriminate against other members.
• Send spam, unsolicited commercial messages, or bulk contact harvesting.
• Share another member's private contact details publicly without consent.
• Impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation.
• Upload malware, attempt unauthorised access, or interfere with portal operation.
• Use the portal for any unlawful purpose.

Your content

You retain ownership of content you submit (profile information, messages, event submissions). You grant MIF and NGN a non-exclusive licence to host, display, and moderate that content solely to operate the portal and programme.

You must have the right to any photo or material you upload. Do not submit confidential third-party information without permission.

Mentorship programme

Mentorship matching and participation are voluntary. MIF and NGN facilitate introductions but do not guarantee outcomes. Mentors and mentees participate as independent professionals; the portal does not create an employment or agency relationship.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms, the Code of Conduct, or if continued access would harm the community. You may delete your account at any time from Settings.

Disclaimer

The portal is provided "as is" for the benefit of the NGN community. To the fullest extent permitted by law, MIF excludes liability for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the portal. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Courts in England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections where applicable.

Changes

We may update these terms. Continued use after notice of material changes constitutes acceptance. The version accepted at onboarding is recorded on your profile.
